The Monster

The sleep of reason produces monsters.”- Francisco Goya

The Monster is a short study that touches upon the dancer’s inner turbulence.
It is not about the loss of reason, but rather an invitation to embrace the emotions uncovered through introspection.
As life evolves under the guidance of reason, we seem to gradually suppress another dimension of the spirit- denying the monstrous self as if it does not exist. Yet, when we fall into the abyss, it is precisely this neglected monster that consumes us.
To reconcile and coexist with life is, in truth, our way of surviving alongside the monster.
