The International Taverna
There Is Still Air – Friday Festival After Hours
Friday 18.9 | Greek Community House
Gates Open | 11:00
On the festival’s final day, JISDF moves to the enchanting garden of the Greek Community House in Jerusalem for a gathering of dance, music, flavors and wine in the spirit of a traditional taverna. Hosted by the Greek Community, this Friday midday event unfolds throughout the garden and the historic house.
At the heart of the event is There Is Still Air, an original production in three parts led by artists Avi Kaiser and Sergio Antonino, together with the festival artists, and created especially for the venue. Moving through the different spaces and among the audience, the work brings the festival artists together for one final shared encounter, culminating in a collective dance jam that invites the audience to join in and dance, accompanied by Greek music and local culinary delights.
Before the artists bid farewell and the four days of the festival come to a close, audiences are invited to gather in the garden, experience the performance up close, and welcome the Sabbath in the quiet atmosphere of Jerusalem.
