16.9 | Wednesday – One Night In Taiwan

One Night in Taiwan | Wednesday 16.9 | Hansen House

19:00 | Gates Open | Courtyard Performances & A Taste of Taiwan
Following the success of 2025, Hansen House once again becomes a gateway to Taiwan for one special evening. Six festival artists bring the many faces of contemporary Taiwanese culture to Jerusalem through an evening of eight dance works, music, flavors and cultural encounters. Bridging tradition and innovation, contemporary movement languages and the influences of Taiwan’s Indigenous cultures, the program brings together works arriving directly from across the island alongside creations developed during the festival’s international residency in Jerusalem. Together, they create an evening that brings the spirit, colors and creativity of Taiwan to the heart of Jerusalem.

Taiwan Experience
Throughout Hansen House, discover a Taiwanese cultural experience featuring bubble tea, Taiwanese whisky and beer, traditional delicacies, and opportunities to meet the artists. Together, these elements create an evening of dance, culture and Taiwanese hospitality.

Taiwan Umbrella Studio
Throughout the evening, audiences are invited to join a traditional umbrella painting workshop, design their own Taiwan inspired umbrella, and take home a colorful handmade souvenir. With a Taiwanese beer in hand and the Jerusalem sunset overhead, visitors are invited to wander through the courtyards and indoor spaces before the evening gathers around the main stage.

20:30 | Main Stage
On the outdoor stage, built especially for the festival in the courtyard of Hansen House, audiences will experience contemporary dance performances, world premieres and original productions by artists from Taiwan, alongside works created during the festival’s international residency in Jerusalem. A unique encounter between artists, cultures and movement languages under the open sky.

Presented in collaboration with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Tel Aviv, the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan.
