The sky will soon appear is part of a dance project based on testimonials from women living in the Gaza Envelope region following the events of October 7, 2023.
As part of the research process, Elik led workshops for women who were evacuated from the region, during which he collected personal testimonies and poems they had written. From this material, Elik created four solo works.
With each dancer he chose, we closely analyze one of the testimonies and extract from it qualities that can be translated into movement- such as physical instability, protection, escape, and more.
The creation unfolds in real time and relates to a living, evolving reality. Although rooted in a specific personal account, it reflects a collective experience that hovers over Israeli society as a whole.
It is an act of reclaiming an individual story through artistic ownership-with the potential to resonate, connect, and initiate a healing process.
