An Aerial Dance Circus Duet

On tall, flowing fabrics, two women exist, weaving stories and relationships. Through the silks, they create new spaces for action, donning and shedding roles and images with a playfulness that stretches the laws of gravity and the dynamics of dependence and control, revealing the powerful partnership between two women.
The piece unfolds in the vertical space on suspended fabrics, on the ground, and in the seams between them. The two characters operate alternately in sync and independently, exploring the power dynamics between them in various situations. The fabric serves both as a mediator and a third player in the intricate web of connections unfolding on stage.

The piece is supported by the foundation for independent
artists.

Israel
Rotem Sapir is an independent circus artist and choreographer. Graduate of the three-year program at Sandciel School for Theatre, Dance and Contemporary Circus. Graduate of "Trampoline" The Train Theatre's development program for innovative circus creation. Her work moves between contemporary circus, dance, and visual theatre, exploring the relationship between the virtuosity and repetition inherent in circus practice and the vulnerability of the human body. Combining refined physical technique with playfulness and curiosity, she creates performances in which the encounter between body, object, and space reveals the fragility, absurdity, and beauty found in imperfection.
