Salute! A Taiwanese Film, Video Dance, and American Contemporary Dance

Join us for an international evening of cinema, dance, and video art – just before the official opening of the festival!

The evening will feature a moving and thought-provoking dance piece and video artwork by American choreographer Margot Gelbe, performed by dancer Shoshana Brooke.

Immediately following, there will be a special one-time screening of the art documentary Salute from Taiwan – a breathtaking film about the power of movement and the courage to choose a life in art. Directed by Yao Hung-I, the film tells the story of international dancer Sheu Fang-Yi, unfolding between biography, poetic cinema, and contemporary dance performance. Through rich visual language and deep emotional expression, the film reveals a personal journey of struggle, passion, and the search for artistic freedom.

One night, one stage, and inspiration that transcends borders.

The event is held in collaboration with the Yozmat Smadar, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Tel Aviv, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan, and the Spotlight Taiwan project.
