One Night in Taiwan

One Night in Taiwan – September 4, 2025

Imagine yourself stepping through the gates of Hansen House and landing, in an instant, in distant Taipei. JISDF invites you to an authentic experience of a night in Taiwan.
Held under the open sky in the festival’s courtyard location at Hansen House, the event will feature eight contemporary dance pieces by leading Taiwanese choreographers, alongside a culinary experience of sushi, bubble tea, traditional Taiwanese desserts, whisky, and Taiwanese beer, all served to the audience with love.

The dance artists arriving especially from Taiwan bring with them a unique voice, vivid color, and an original, personal movement language. Each work reveals a different perspective on contemporary Taiwanese identity, together forming a vibrant mosaic of styles, approaches, and themes, from the intimate and poetic to the powerful and political.

This evening offers a taste of contemporary Taiwanese culture, through movement, flavor, color, and sound, right here in Jerusalem.

The event is held in collaboration with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Tel Aviv, the Taiwanese Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Spotlight Taiwan project.
