Chang-ning Chou is a Taiwanese dancer, choreographer, and dance educator. A graduate of the Taipei National University of the Arts, she performed with Cloud Gate Dance Theatre for 26 years (1993–2019), dancing leading roles in many of Lin Hwai-min’s celebrated works, including Moon Water, Cursive, and The Tale of the White Serpent. She has appeared in more than 1,600 performances at major international festivals and venues across Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America. Her performances have been praised for their exceptional artistry, with critics highlighting the unity of body, breath, and spirit in her dancing. Since leaving Cloud Gate, Chou has continued developing her own artistic practice while teaching, choreographing, and leading workshops. Rooted in contemporary dance and inspired by traditional Eastern body practices, her work explores the relationship between breath, movement, and inner awareness.
